Its objective is to strengthen the mechanisms put in place by the University of Montpellier to promote awareness of and adherence to ethical and professional principles in response to the questions raised by scientific progress and its contemporary societal implications, regardless of the field of research. The UMR ESPACE-DEV conducts research on the spatial dynamics that characterize eco-sociosystems. Its objectives focus on defining indicators of these dynamics: biogeophysical processes, societal changes, risks associated with emerging diseases based on environmental parameters, and territorial changes and vulnerability to global changes. To this end, it develops methodologies in spatial remote sensing and knowledge integration. The LICeM brings together faculty members and researchers who are deeply engaged in the field of innovation, particularly in economic law. The unit, composed of legal scholars, focuses its research on two areas related to innovation and the law. The first area aims to identify and understand, in light of new market offerings and behaviors, what legal innovations are being created. The second area seeks to analyze the legal framework governing innovative products resulting from digital technologies. The team’s research serves as an important foundation for the courses it offers at the Master’s and University Diploma (DU) levels: consumer affairs, distribution and competition; intellectual property and digital law; and food law. The Private Law Laboratory at the Faculty of Law and Political Science in Montpellier brings together Professors in a cross-disciplinary approach to private law. Currently, three research areas are being pursued in parallel: vulnerable individuals; real property; and payment.
